Membership FAQ’s

I have forgotten my password. How can I login to the website?

Use the ‘Forgot Password’ option on the site and you will be redirected to the site to change your password and access your account. If you do not receive it, please check your spam folder. Do not copy and paste the password from the email, please type it out and ensure the caps, numerals, etc. are correct.

On renewal of membership, why did I get a failure message of payment and also a successful payment message?

If you have received a successful payment email, your membership has been renewed and payment has gone through. Every time you try to renew, you get a message about the success or failure of the transaction. This is a fail safe built into our system, so we can keep track of what payments are done and what don’t go through to avoid problems. Sometimes it is confusing since the failure message is sent a day later- as a double check is done.

You tried once and aborted the payment- this email was for that transaction. Thereafter, you completed your payment. That went through.

I want to apply for the ISOLA Students Award, but I am not a member or my membership has lapsed?

All students who wish to register for the ISOLA Students Award should mandatorily be student members during their course of study. They may be student or graduate members at the time of registering for the Awards.

A new member in graduate category can be an exception (award related) when they can pay arrears for up to 2 years along with current year fees without any fine.

A lapsed graduate member who has paid first year student fees will fall into the amnesty scheme, even for the awards.

I applied for membership in December. When is my membership valid till?

The financial year for ISOLA commences on the 1st of April and ends on the following 31st of March. All memberships become due for renewal on the 1st of April every year, irrespective of date of joining. There are no half-yearly or quarter-yearly membership payments/validity.

Do I have to change my category?

All membership categories are based on number of years of experience in the field of landscape architecture, practice or academia, on completion of post graduate degree. Category change is mandatory based on seniority.

Can I take advantage of both the Amnesty and Discounted Membership scheme?

The Discounted Membership and Amnesty Schemes are standalone schemes. They can be used for successive years but not together.

What is the maximum time I can renew my membership for?

Renewals can be for a maximum of 3 years. There is no lifetime membership scheme.

Do I have to pay a fine for late payment? What If I have not renewed my membership fees for 5 years?

Any renewal during the last year of membership can be done without any fine for 3 months beyond the membership expiry date, i.e. March 31st (till June 30th of that year). After the 3 months, 10% fine in addition to the applicable fees for the next year applies.

After one year has lapsed, every one falls into the amnesty scheme where the payment is only 2 years without the 10% fine.

Can I reapply as a new member if my membership has lapsed for a long period of time?

No, if your membership has lapsed for a long period, you may take advantage of the Amnesty scheme, wherein you memberships can be renewed (lapsed for more than 2 years) at a payment of one year’s fee as penalty charge along with the applicable fees for the current year. One year’s penalty fee payable will be for the category of membership the member is applying for. If there is a change of category, category change fee is applicable.
